The WiFA Networking committee cordially invites you to join a series of events focused on PERSUASION, the act of convincing someone to change their beliefs or to do something in the way you suggest. It is often described as the ‘art’ of persuasion because it does not follow a formula, it must be practiced in the moment. Understanding more about this can not only help you learn to influence others, it can also help you to influence yourself to make the changes you want.
Event 1 in the series focused on Using Story to Influence, and Event 2 featured Mindset Matters.

Title: Persuasion Through (Active) Listening
Speaker: The Samaritans, Hong Kong
Overview: To persuade people, I need to do the talking – right?
When people feel truly listened to, connection and the possibility of change arise. Thus, we are often advised to ‘listen’, but rarely is it explained to us how it’s done. This event offers you the opportunity to learn the ‘HOW’ of active listening, from the training team at The Samaritans, HK, which has trained volunteers in active listening since the 1970s.
Date: Wednesday November 25
Time: 6.30pm to 7.30pm HK time

The service is provided to anyone regardless of age, creed, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. Our 24-hour multilingual hotline service is operated by unpaid, trained volunteers. Since 1974, we have received more than 563,200 phone calls from callers ranging in age from 8 to 80.
