What is your current role, and your connection with WiFA?

I am Director, Regulatory and Government Affairs APAC with Citi.  As Chair Emeritus of WiFA, I am extremely proud that an idea that evolved out of a chance encounter between my co-conveners, Kimberly Cole and Cynthia Wheelan, which was actioned and infused with energy by other like minded women at ASIFMA’s boardroom a few weeks later, has evolved into this well-respected, innovative and vibrant forum for women in financial services in Asia’s premier financial centre!

Why and how do you support WIFA?

In any way I can.  A Chair Emeritus is called upon to provide advice and guidance.  I will be available at all times to give my 2 cents worth and more as long as the WiFA Board wants to hear from me.

One most proud accomplishment in shifting the gender diversity/ empowering women in achieving their full professional potentials?

Co-convening and co-chairing WiFA (twice)!  Karsten Moller, International CEO of ASIFMA at the time – presented me with a challenge following an ASIFMA Board meeting in early 2008: “Cynthia Wheelan wants us to host a forum for women in financial services in Asia.  Can you do it?”.  With a resounding YES from me, I have never looked back!

Tell us one thing that is important for #CreatingTheWorkforceOfTheFuture

Flexibility in mindset and attitude.  One size does not fit all.

What advice would you give to women who want to advance their career?

Never give up.  Sometimes, the most obvious route might not be the right one for you.  Look for alternative paths, which may be less direct, but ultimately prove to be more sustainable and resilient for you and your career.
